Introducing Ross Beach TOP 10 Holiday Park

Quirky / kwe:ki/ Characterised by unexpected or unusual in an interesting and unconventional, appealing way.

Kia ora, we are a boutique, quirky, couple-focused TOP 10 Holiday Park. Nestled on New Zealand’s Ross Beach, right by the glistening Tasman Sea, you simply couldn’t dream up a better location for a relaxing, chilled out holiday park experience. Better still, the range of Ross accommodation you’ll find here is like no other TOP10 you have ever seen, and delightfully one-off – with Studio Pods and soon to arrive Geo Glamping Domes, cleverly (and cosily) created from repurposed and upcycled shipping containers!

Surrounded by fresh native plants, you can drift off to sleep listening to the gentle sounds of the sea. Wake up and greet the morning sunshine out on your furnished deck. You’ll find 11 quirky pods to choose from, each one individually styled to reflect its unique location by the sea and native plantings. There’s also a range of tent and campervan sites, if you’d rather bring your own accommodation.

The most luxurious pod on offer is the Maxi Studio Apartment Pad, which is ideal for a romantic couple. Featuring private kitchen and bathroom facilities, private outdoor bath tub (with fluffy ‘his and hers’ bath robes), you can savour the sun set and watch the Milky Way overhead.

Meanwhile, the Whanau Pods sleeps 4, for families with a sense of fun and adventure! Cosily furnished with a Queen bed and a set of bunks for the little ones, there’s also a kettle with tea, coffee and milk supplied, along with a small bar fridge. You’ll be sharing the generous communal facilities on-site, which include toilets and piping hot showers, a well-stocked camp kitchen, a Sky-equipped TV room, and a large, sociable area for sizzling barbecues!

So, with your Ross accommodation nicely sorted, how will you spend your time? Well, there’s always that gorgeously wild beach; whilst not really suitable for swimming, it’s perfect for lazy afternoons with a good book, or beach camp fire. During the summer months the on-site Wood fired Pizza takeaway and off-license offer a great evening feed in the beachside chillout zone.

Keen cyclists will love the close proximity to the West Coast Wilderness Trail, which winds its way through ancient rainforests and former goldmining towns, glacial rivers, and scenic wetlands. Though it’ll take four whole days to complete the trail in full, you’re only 200m from the start (or finish), and with bike hire readily available straight from our Ross Beach holiday park, there’s no excuse not to give it a whirl!

Indulge in all that fresh-air-filled activity to your hearts’ content… then relax and chat the evening away with new friends over a delicious barbecue, or pizza supper. What better way to spend a holiday?

Things to note:

Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement only, and only in your own motorhome or campervan. Tent sites are not available from May – October.

What a great place to be! The owner is so helpful and funny! We had a non-powered spot directly at the ocean! Couldn’t be more romantic with a blue sky and a sun who perfectly sunk into the Tasman Sea! We wholeheartedly recommend this camping! Showers and toilets are clean and more than sufficient! Kitchen is also immaculate!
Don’t hesitate!

Just an amazing location. Right on the beach with containers as rooms, bathrooms, kitchen and a lounge. Enjoy the magnificent beach sunset with a picnic or dinner. Plenty of logs to sit on! All the cabins and sites are set amongst large flax bushes creating ambience, privacy and wind protection. Really a great place to stay!

Loved Ross Beach. Perfect place to stay for peace and quiet just south of Hokitika. Wonderful hosts, amazing beach with driftwood dens, fires, sunsets.
The campsite was always clean with great facilities. Would love to go back one day.

Clean and comfortable pods. Sue and Andy were such gracious enthusiastic and helpful hosts. They were spot on with insisting we stay 1/2 hour longer on the beach to see the sunset and then the star display. The facilities catered to all of us who love the beach experience - bonfires, pizzas, lounging!

Beautiful Ross campsite next to the beach. We stayed here over 3 nights. A beautiful well run park with very good facilities. Beach is right there, hearing the waves and seeing the amazing sunsets us so beautiful. Night times consisted of bonfire, toasted marshmallows with a wine watching the sun go down. We stayed in a powered site but  there are beautiful container cabins in which are all very private. The TOP 10 is close to all things in Hokitika and surrounding areas, would highly recommend staying here.

THE coolest place I have ever stayed. Right on the beach. Made it in time for sunset viewing. The owners have thought of everything, and you can see the care that goes into this place. Listen to the waves as you drift asleep!.
