Beautiful part of NZ - my son absolutely LOVED hiring an incredible electric bike from these guys and taking it to Bike Glendhu..he said it was some of the best riding he's ever done! Everyone here was very friendly, great facilities, great view (just not great coffee). My daughter also loved the jumping pillow and outdoor movie night on Christmas eve. Thank you!

Absolute gem.
It’s a huge site directly on the lake with direct access to the pebble beach and such a great view that we stayed three nights instead of the planned one. Think that says it all.
It’s away from the Wānaka hectic and has beautiful views over the lake and on the mountains. Lots of facilities and very friendly staff. Very good prices too.

Hampshire Holiday Parks - Glendhu Bay Waterfront Powered Site

One of our favourite campsites during our time on the south island. We paid for a pitch right on the lake which was completely worth it. We had planned to stay 2 nights and ended up staying 5 as we loved it so much - quiet, peaceful with spotless facilities (even if a little dated on our end of the site), and incredibly friendly staff. Loved staying just outside of Wanaka central and would recommend this campsite anyone. Good value for money for multiple nights vs other campsites we’ve stayed at.

Park FAQs

What are your reception hours?

We are open from 9am to 5pm, with hours extending to 8am to 8pm during summer (December to mid-February).
What time is check in/check out?

Check in is at 2pm. Check out for accommodation is 10am and for sites is 11am.
What is your pet policy?

We are dog friendly after Waitangi Weekend in February until the week before Christmas. Dogs must be on a lead at all times and owners must clean up all droppings. Dogs are not permitted in any camp buildings. No pets of any kind are allowed in the camp during the peak period of 20th December to after Waitangi weekend in February. This applies to both campers and visitors and includes the beach. NO exception to this rule, regardless of the size or breed of dog or type of pet.
Is WiFi available?

Yes. We have free, unlimited Wi-Fi throughout the park.
Are there laundry facilites?

Yes, we have 2 laundry rooms with tap-and-go washing machines and dryers. Laundry powder is available for purchase in the main block laundry 24/7, and at reception during opening hours.
What is available in the kitchen?

In the kitchen you’ll find ovens, hotplates, fridges, freezers, toasters & instant hotwater.

Utility boxes with cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, pot & frying pan, kettle, chopping board, and tea towels can be hired for the length of the stay for cabin guests.

2 person box is $10.00 while 4 person box is $20.00.

The Lodge and House both have fully equipped kitchens.
Is linen included?

Linen is included in all accommodation excluding towels. Towels can be hired for $5 each for the length of your stay.
What does it cost to use the park's boat ramp?

Boat ramp fees are $10 per day, $15 per week, or $60 per year. Pay at the park office and display your receipt or permit while using the ramp.
