After years in the corporate world, Gene and Jenny decided it was time for a change - a chance to follow their passion and create something truly special. In 2020, they purchased what was then known as Napier Beach Kiwi Holiday Park, and in October 2021, the Park joined the TOP 10 family. Over the past four and a half years, Gene and Jenny have worked tirelessly to improve every corner of the Park, creating a welcoming, family-friendly space that feels like a home away from home. With stunning coastal views in Bay View, fresh sea air, an onsite café, and dog-friendly policies, Napier Beach TOP 10 is the perfect getaway - just a short drive or cycle from the city centre.
Family has always been at the heart of the Coopers’ vision. Gene and Jenny run the Park alongside their daughter Steph and a wider circle of family members, with grandchildren even getting involved. Now, the Park is looked after by their wonderful Manager, Renee Lawton. Together, they’ve built a business that’s not just family-owned, but truly family-run, where every guest is treated like part of the extended Cooper family.
A year after purchasing Napier Beach TOP 10, Gene and Jenny felt the Park was in excellent hands, and they felt the pull of home back to the Nelson Tasman region, where they had spent 20 years raising their family. In 2022, they purchased Pohara Beach TOP 10, adding it to their North Island venture. The same family-first approach is at the heart of Pohara Beach TOP 10, with Gene and Jenny involved day to day, Steph helping to run the Park, and family members regularly featuring in the Park’s social stories. Whether visitors come for the breathtaking views, swimming, endless outdoor adventures, or simply to relax, Pohara Beach TOP 10 offers a slice of local paradise.
For Gene, Jenny, and their family, running these Parks isn’t just a business - it’s a way of life.
