This award-winning complex houses a fine collection of Māori and European artifacts, an extensive photographic collection and art galleries which exhibit local, national and international art works. The shop specialises in local art and craft. Te Moana Maritime Museum includes the wheelhouse savaged from S.S. Star of Canada which sank off Kaiti Beach in 1912, a collection of historic surfboards and maritime artifacts.
